THE BIRD TOWER
PROJECT INFORMATION: DESIGN STUDIO PROJECT TWO
This design studio assignment involved the exploration of internal and external spatial relationships. The assignment was to create a tower in two parts. The assignment included the task of designing two 40 foot cubes. It required designing the bottom and top cube first. We were then asked to design the two middle cubes showing how circulation would work throughout the tower. Through the analysis of possible spatial relationships, I created a series of solid and void spaces that culminated into the Bird Tower. The main idea behind the project was to keep a cohesiveness between the geometries visible within the design both externally and internally.
