Product Description
The sound absorption panel has an exterior pyramid made from a light & porous plastic enabling sound penetration. The plastic exterior will display embedded LED strips that are along the exterior moat surrounding the pyramid creating a full square of changing color. The interior is stacked with 4 layers of fabric wrapped rock wool paneling with a thickness of 76mm and a density of 60kg/m3 each. The stacking of the rock wool panels is important because when put together there is sufficient density to allow the panel to block low frequency sounds from escaping the room. In addition to the rock wool panels there will be insulating open cell spray foam on the back of the panel to further absorb sound. The Sound Panel is an easily installable product using inexpensive wholesale materials bringing the listener an inexpensive solution to sound absorbtion.
Product Design
To create the pyramid itself I utilized a heat vacuum forming machine. To make the plastic pores I will use a metal press to stamp out holes on the outer plastic surface. Once that is accomplished the interior of the pyramid must be lined with a non-ripping fabric to contain any rock wool from escaping the pyramid. After the pyramid has been lined, the rest of the construction with rock wool and the foam can be accomplished without any tools necessary. The panel’s easy manufacturing process and low cost makes it useful to other markets like restaurants while still being useful in an individual’s home.
